PEGPETIA CT ED TECH GRANT FUNDING
What is the PEGPETIA Grant?
The PEGPETIA Grant Program, administered by the CT DPUC (PURA), provides funding to schools, towns, and community TV stations, to purchase education and broadcasting technology. The funding comes from cable TV bills (.25% of each consumer bill is deposited into this account quarterly). Approximately $3.5 Million goes into this fund yearly, available on a first-come-first-served basis until all the money is distributed to about 100 applicants.
Who can apply for the grant?
PEGPETIA funds are available to any entity involved either directly or indirectly in community access-related activities, specifically public school boards and public access TV stations. 50% of funding is available to boards of education and other educational entities for educational technology initiatives.
What are the grant deadlines?
Applications need to be submitted between October 2, 2023 and February 22, 2024.
Applications received after these dates will not be processed. Please subscribe to our “Be the First to Know” email list (in the sidebar or below) to be notified of the latest developments.
What needs to be included in the grant request?

The Application must be signed and include complete answers to all questions, as well as copies of bids, estimates, prices, and other supporting information.
Applicants that apply for funding must comply with existing community access rules regarding the prohibitions on advertising, commercial content, political advertising and the exercise of editorial control as a condition of funding.
In cases where PEGPETIA funds are awarded for equipment purchases, the recipients must demonstrate that the users are qualified or will be qualified to operate the equipment.

What happens to the application when the funds are exhausted?
If funds are exhausted during the designated window, the Authority will retain the remaining Applications until the following quarter and make its evaluation of those Applications at that time.
The Authority reserves the right to modify grant awards which could conceivably include awarding large requests for funding over multiple years or delaying fund disbursement to match fund availability and/or preserve the 50/50 Act education finding mandate.
What can I expect after the grant application is submitted?
The Authority will notify all Applicants by mail of the grant amount awarded or if their requests for funding were denied.
What happens after the grant is awarded?
Once an application is approved and a decision is rendered, Grant award recipients must acknowledge acceptance of the grant award. They have 30 days to submit an affidavit to attest to the terms of that funding Decision.
Once a signed affidavit is filed, the Authority will direct that a check be issued. The Applicant will have to submit a proof of performance compliance filing. After making the expenditures, the Applicant must submit copies of receipts and proof of payments.
What kind of reporting is required after receiving a grant?
Award recipients must provide a summary of the impact of the grant funding to the Authority, complying with the reporting requirements outlined in the Authority’s Decision, in Docket No. 22-10-02, and any Orders contained in the Decisions awarding their respective Grants.
The time frame for complying with these requirements will be stated in each Grant Award Decision. The Grant Award Decision may also include more reporting requirements, conditions or grant restrictions.
What happens if the application is denied?
If the grant application is denied, a new grant application may be submitted for the next available deadline.
Can there be multiple applications?
There can be multiple applications, however, to allow for a variety of requests, Grant recipients are permitted to apply in two consecutive deadlines.

PEGPETIA Award Winner Griswold Public Schools
“Daily student engagement has grown tremendously since we started doing video morning announcements, as they ‘tune-in’ to watch their friends on ‘the news,’ as well as curated content. The experience they get as performers, technicians, reporters, and producers is priceless. The staff and I love the ease of use of the DEVOS system for curriculum and content delivery. The transition from the old analog system to digital streaming was very affordable and the installation was seamless. DiscoverVideo team is always quick to respond and resolve any issues. We have no idea how we managed without this upgrade!”
